There are first days, and then there are first days, the kind that leave you soaked to the skin, sprinting across IT Park under a monsoon sky, and wondering if the universe has mixed up your plans on purpose. For Quality Assurance Specialist Randy Pinote, that drenched dash was more than a memorable entrance; it marked the start of a winding SVC journey that has taught him to trust twists, cherish mentors, and continually strive for the next level.
A Journey That Began in a Downpour
“Soaking wet, that was literally me,” Randy laughs, recalling the June night he meant to interview at a different BPO. Halfway there, a text from SVC changed everything: Training starts tonight. One jeepney hop became three; day-shift dreams turned into graveyard reality; and a clerical mix-up landed Randy under the wing of the wrong Vertudazo, Mrs. Charmaenne Reyes Vertudazo, not the Mr. he’d originally applied to join.
“It was a huge blessing in disguise,” he says. “I prayed for a sister-figure leader who’d treat me like family. God answered.”
Thus began Randy’s first role, dialing through an Employment Verification campaign, checking references for strangers while learning the ropes of customer service, and, unknowingly, laying the groundwork for a career focused on quality.
A Mentor Who Sets the Bar
Ask Randy what propelled his growth, and he won’t start with software or standard operating procedures (SOPs). He’ll start and end with Mrs. Charmaenne Reyes Vertudazo.
“She inspires me to stay positive, be professional, and never let anyone cloud my judgment,” he explains. “Her influence shaped how I approach quality today.”
Under her guidance, Randy came to embrace professionalism as more than just a buzzword. It became his north star when workloads spiked, deadlines shrank, or commissions dangled just out of reach.
Turning Roadblocks into Playbooks
Employment verification may sound straightforward, but Randy will tell you otherwise. Unresponsive employers, missing data, and deadline pressure turned every file into a mini-mystery.
So he built a system:
Multiple touchpoints, calls, emails, and faxes. Detailed logs of every attempt. Early escalation for anything time-sensitive.
Organization and persistence kept his accuracy high and stress low, even when answers arrived at the eleventh hour.
Leveling Up
This month, Randy’s title changed to Quality Assurance Specialist, but his mission stayed the same: protect standards, drive improvement, and champion consistency.
What excites him most?
“The chance to make a meaningful impact,” he says. Now he isn’t just following a process, he’s refining it, collaborating across teams, and turning analytics into actionable wins that ripple through the organization.
More Than a Title
The promotion carries weight for Randy, not as an endpoint, but as evidence that hard work earns trust.
“It motivates me to keep learning and to help others rise too,” he shares. “Staying humble is part of the deal.”
