“For 16 years, Select VoiceCom has evolved! As your needs diversified, so did our support services. We grew as you grew. Together, we’ve achieved incredible things—and we’re just getting started.”
Select VoiceCom celebrated its 16 incredible years in the industry with a beyond-epic night at the APEX Super Club in Mandaue City on September 21, 2024. Almost 700 employees dazzled in style at this year’s Y2K-themed anniversary party.
Mark kicked off the anniversary party with a surprise opening speech that touched everyone in the venue. He took a moment to thank all heads and employees who became part of Select VoiceCom’s 16 years of success and excellence. “Thank you to each and every one of you for coming tonight and for all the hard work and dedication you put in day after day. This company wouldn’t be what it is without you, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve built together.”
Mark then proudly introduced the newest members of Select VoiceCom’s leadership team. “Now, we have some special guests joining us tonight, and I’d like to take a moment to welcome them. From the U.S., we have Christy Ingall, our Director of Client Services, as well as our two new VPs of Sales, Paul Taylor and Jeff Velodota. We’re thrilled to have you here with us! Also, a warm welcome to Paula Castillo, our new Director of Marketing who has traveled all the way from Manila to be here tonight!”
He took pride in how much Select VoiceCom has grown since he and his brother, Michael Shapiro, founded the company together. So, this anniversary was even more meaningful to him. “As I stand here, I’m filled with immense pride. 16 years ago, we were just a small company with big dreams. Now, thanks to all of you, we’ve grown into something truly special. Your dedication, resilience, and team spirit have been the backbone of our success.”
Mark also expressed his gratitude to all the people who made this event possible. “A special thank you to my friends and our President, Trevor Michael, and our COO, Jermaine Arco— I couldn’t ask for a better team to lead this company. And of course, a huge shoutout to our own management team who’s back there.”
“We got Elsie Avergonzado (HR Head), Dianne Carpio (Recruitment Head), Rasela Ramos (Corporate Controller), Ronald Camino (Facilities and Safety Head), Dion Conejos, Jeson Garopel (Senior IT Officer), Romel Tabigue (IT Head), Ann Espina (Brand and Communications Supervisor), and Christine Gavina (Content Marketing Specialist) and of course everyone else who put together this incredible evening. It’s because of you that we’re able to celebrate in style tonight!”
It was a heartfelt moment that truly celebrated our journey and really connected the SVC family. “Tonight is a celebration of all we’ve achieved—and it’s also a celebration of the bright future ahead. With the team we have, I know that the next 16 years will be even better. So let’s raise a glass, enjoy this fantastic party, and look forward to all that’s yet to come!”
The spotlight shone brightly on the SVC Titan winners Rojel Lunzaga from the Facilities and Safety Department and Maria Erika Redido and Roselyn Bacsal from our campaigns. Mark, Trevor, and Jermaine celebrated these outstanding talents by presenting them with certificates and medals, honoring their great contributions to SVC’s success. The SVC Titans’ brilliance at work truly stole the show!
The Cebuana Drag Queens set the stage on fire with their phenomenal lip-sync performances. All eyes were on them when they performed and lip-synched Dreamgirls’ “One Night Only” during their opening production number.
Select VoiceCom’s very own lead intake specialist and one of Cebu’s top drag queens, Bien Abarete, a.k.a. Spirit Gum, stood out with her drop-dead gorgeous drag looks and extraordinary solo performances of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing,” Avril Lavigne’s “What the Hell,” and Leona Lewis’ “Bleeding Love.”
This just goes to show that our agents are more than just voices—they are vibrant personalities with amazing talents that really come to life in every performance, be it at work or on stage. And because of that, SVC is proud of them!
SVC employees from different departments and campaigns really brought the house down at the Battle of the Bands Contest. Five 9, Basic Beat, The Haranistas, and The Rogers—each band took the stage and performed their renditions of iconic 2000s hits, which had everyone singing along and reminiscing. The party venue was filled with nostalgia and energy as they rocked out together—definitely a night to remember!
DJ and hypeman duo Edz Mabini and Chris brought the party to life with their electrifying mixes of Y2K hits and monster beats. The dance floor was alive with energy as SVC employees let loose, singing and grooving to nostalgic favorites that kept the excitement soaring all night long. Even Mark, Trevor, and other heads couldn’t resist the infectious rhythm, joining in on the fun and dancing alongside their team.
SVC employees nailed the dress code and went all out on their party outfits, rocking the Y2K glam from head to toe. They didn’t just show up—they owned the night in 2000s attires. Check out how they turned the anniversary celebration into a Y2K fashion show:
Of course, SVC’s 16th-anniversary party would not be complete without the much-anticipated raffle draws! Employees held their breaths in excitement as the SVC heads spun the tambiolo— the barrel-shaped container filled with raffle tickets. Each time a lucky winner was announced, the crowd erupted in cheers and applause for their colleagues. The raffle prizes include SM gift certificates, staycation packages at Dusit Thani and Solea, a life plan from St. Peter, and a grand prize of ₱50,000. Everyone left the event with huge smiles on their faces!
