SVC Halloween Fun with FriYay and Power in Pink | Select VoiceCom

It was a lively Friday morning at Select VoiceCom (SVC) as we combined fun and health awareness with two back-to-back events: FriYay’s Halloween Hungry Dogs Treat and Power in Pink: A Breast Cancer Awareness Talk. Held at SVC’s Cebu office, the events drew employees together for a day of food, community, and learning about a vital health cause.

The day kicked off with the scent of grilled hotdogs filling the air at the 10th-floor lobby, where SVC’s monthly FriYay took place. From 5 AM to 11 AM, employees lined up for 880  Hungry Dogs hotdogs, turning the office into a food fest. Laughter and conversation filled the lobby as colleagues took a break from their routines to enjoy the treat.

The fun was balanced with something more meaningful—at 7 AM, employees gathered for the Power in Pink: A Breast Cancer Awareness Talk, held in the 10th-floor conference room.

The session featured health and wellness advocate Maria Desiree “Honey” M. Abella, RN, who shared crucial information on breast cancer prevention, the importance of early detection, and the role of regular health screenings. Her talk resonated deeply with the attendees, particularly the 30 female employees who joined, many of whom left feeling empowered by the information.

"It’s not something I often think about, but this talk really made me realize how important it is to stay on top of my health. The advice on screenings and self-care was invaluable," shared one employee who attended the talk.

To add a thoughtful touch, attendees were given pink-themed refreshments—sweets, snacks, and even a skincare serum—as a token of appreciation. This gesture highlighted SVC’s commitment to the well-being of our employees, ensuring they felt cared for, not just professionally but personally.

Blending Fun and Purpose

What made this day unique was the effortless blend of light-hearted enjoyment and serious awareness. While the Hungry Dogs filled our employees' tummies, the Power in Pink talk created an opportunity for learning and reflection. These two events underscored SVC’s dedication to creating a workplace where employee well-being—whether through a delicious hotdog or life-saving health advice—is always a priority.

The events are part of SVC’s ongoing efforts to foster a culture of support, growth, and wellness among our employees.
