His Journey of Excellence From Dedication to Distinction
Rojel not only celebrated his victory as June’s SVC Titan but also marked his first work anniversary last Wednesday, July 10, 2024. From the very start of his career with the company until today, he has proved his commitment to his role in the Facilities and Safety department, never once being late or absent. Over the past years, he has continually expanded his knowledge, expertly establishing and implementing safety programs, accident prevention measures, and health maintenance initiatives for all employees.
During his interview on the SVC Spotlight podcast, Rojel shared about his colleague who motivated him to perform his best at work. “Si--kay Sir Ronald. Siya ang nikuan gyud nako kay-- Oo, ni-guide nako nga-- sa mga trabahoon. Nya, usa sad siya nga-- maong di lang sad gyud ko mu-absent. Nakita man gud nako niya nga mutabang gyud siya mga tawo. (To Sir Ronald, he’s the one who always motivated me. He guided me with the work being done. He’s also one of my motivators who helped me not to have any absences at work. I also saw how helpful he was to everyone.)”
Outside SVC: A Glimpse Into His Personal Life
SVC Titan Rojel is a model employee who embodies SVC’s commitment to excellence. But outside work, he is an ordinary guy, just like everyone else, going through the ups and downs of life. In his interview on SVC Spotlight, the 37-year-old super dad took a trip down memory lane, reminiscing about the times when he was still a bachelor. He got into all sorts of troubles when he was younger, but everything changed when his wife and three kids came into his life.
His family is his inspiration not only to do an excellent job at work but also to change his life for the better. When asked what is his advice to his younger self, Rojel said, “Sa ako lang masulti nga sa akong pagka-kuan, sa pagkabata-- nga ako ika-advice-- or ang ako ika-advice sa-- or manghud pa nako: Kung unsay inyuhang mga naagian nga pabadlong, mentras sayo pa, mas maayo pa'g magbinuotan. (Maybe the one advice that I could give to my younger self or even to anyone younger than me, if you’re running into all sorts of trouble, start bringing change into your life while it’s still early.)”
Rojel’s Wisdom for Colleagues
Rojel is nothing but amazing both in and outside SVC. But what truly sets him apart is his humility. Despite his impressive work achievements and inspiring life journey, he remains grounded and approachable. That’s something we can all learn from.
During his SVC Spotlight interview, he shared some advice with his colleagues: “Ang ako ika-advice nila, sa akong mga katrabaho, or mga new hires: Ayaw lang gyud mo og pag-absent or ma-late. Og mu-absent man gali mo, kana lang naay importante gyud nga kuan-- or naa moy-- nasakit ba mo ron. (My advice for my workmates, our trainees, and new hires is that you have to stop the habit of absences and coming to work late. When you need to be absent, it has to be because of an emergency or an important matter. Maybe you might be feeling sick.)”
