Select VoiceCom fed the homeless families in Downtown Cebu City on April 5, 2022. From different departments and walks of life, SVC volunteers distributed 120 meals to underprivileged Cebuanos in Colon Street, Plaza Independencia, and areas near the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral, where most vulnerable downtown residents seek shelter.
The ultimate goal of this Project 15 charity drive and feeding program initiative was to transform the lives of the less fortunate into better ones. Despite the bad weather, the SVC volunteers were undeterred, arriving early in the morning to proceed with the meal distribution. SVC was determined to serve the community and extend the help needed, rain or shine.
No More Hungry Cebuanos in Downtown
Select VoiceCom recognized that food is a fundamental human right, not a privilege. So, SVC volunteers ensured no one in Downtown Cebu City slept on an empty stomach. The team gathered all the resources and support they needed to address hunger head-on.
Our volunteers went into every corner of Downtown Cebu City to reach out to disadvantaged families in urgent need of support. With warm meals and even warmer smiles, the team provided them with the nourishment and hope they needed to survive for another day.
Easing Worries, Empowering Lives
More than fighting hunger, SVC organized this charity drive to help underprivileged downtown residents overcome their circumstances. The volunteers believe that providing them with their basic necessities, including the care they need, can somehow improve their lives.
When people don’t have to constantly worry about these things, they can focus on the more important ones, like finding jobs, getting an education, and taking better care of themselves. So, the meals are not just to fill their grumbling stomachs. They are more about giving these homeless families the strength they need to live the life they want for themselves.
