At Select VoiceCom (SVC), we pride ourselves on fostering a culture of excellence and ambition. This ethos shines brightly in our very own Lorieche Layne Galariana, Team Leader and candidate #7 for the prestigious Miss Cebu 2025 pageant. Lorieche isn’t just showcasing Cebu’s vibrant culture and heritage on the grand stage; she’s showing how dedication, discipline, and big dreams can transform lives—both at work and beyond.

With the coronation night set for January 15, 2025, at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino, let’s look at how this inspiring leader balances her corporate responsibilities with her beauty pageant dreams.

Balancing the Boardroom and the Runway

When asked how she juggles the demands of being a Team Leader at SVC and preparing for Miss Cebu, Lorieche credited one vital skill: time management.

“It is always about time management. I outline my activities for the day so that I know what to do at a specific hour and avoid procrastination. Time management is the most important key and factor to balance my life right now.

This approach mirrors her leadership at SVC, where she diligently ensures her team stays organized and productive. As a Team Leader, her knack for structure and multitasking motivates her agents, proving that discipline and focus are key to success in both the corporate and pageant arenas.

Championing Advocacy: Anti-Cyberbullying for a Safer Online Space

As part of the Miss Cebu platform, candidates are asked to champion an advocacy close to their hearts. For Lorieche, the choice was clear: anti-cyberbullying.

“I’ve always been an advocate for anti-cyberbullying. As a Team Leader, I envision myself as a mother, so I am always protective of my agents. That’s how I feel toward people on social media. I want them to feel safe and have a channel where they can voice their feelings without fear. I also advocate for teaching young people about social media etiquette to prevent bullying.”

At SVC, this advocacy aligns with our commitment to being a safe space for clients and employees alike. Just as Lorieche cultivates trust and security within her team, we prioritize addressing client concerns with empathy and respect, fostering a culture where everyone feels valued and understood.

From the Corporate World to Pageant Stage

Her journey from the corporate world to the pageant stage was inspired by a desire for personal growth. She explained how her role as a team leader at SVC has significantly influenced her experience in Miss Cebu.

What inspired me the most in joining Miss Cebu 2025 is personal growth. I wanted to test my capabilities. Being a Team Leader has influenced me a lot because there are many things you learn in the corporate world that are also important in the pageant world. The network I’ve built here is helpful for creating impactful community projects.”

The skills she’s honed at SVC, from effective communication to problem-solving, have become her greatest assets as a Miss Cebu candidate.

When asked which skill from her SVC role has been most beneficial in her pageant journey, Lorieche didn’t hesitate: interpersonal skills.

“In my line of work, I always communicate with my agents, check on them, and get in touch with what’s happening in their lives. This has helped me build meaningful connections in the pageant world and beyond.”

These interpersonal skills highlight her ability to connect with people on a deeper level—a quality that sets her apart as a leader but also as a pageant contender. Whether addressing client concerns or engaging with pageant organizers and fellow candidates, her warmth and sincerity shine through.

Dream Big: Inspiring Message to All at SVC

When asked to share advice for her colleagues at SVC, Lorieche offered an inspiring message:

“Always dream big. If it doesn’t scare you, you’re not there yet. When I joined Miss Cebu, I was scared and didn’t know what to do, but I challenged myself. That’s why I always tell people to dream big.”

Miss Cebu: The Heartbeat of the Queen City of the South

This year’s Miss Cebu pageant celebrates the modern Cebuana—an empowered woman who embodies the perfect blend of tradition and modernity, elegance and strength. Lorieche represents this spirit wholeheartedly, carrying not just her personal dreams but also the pride of SVC and Cebu on her shoulders.

Since its inception in 1983, Miss Cebu has served as a platform to showcase the Queen City of the South as a prime tourist destination and hub for culture and heritage. Lorieche’s participation adds another layer of inspiration, demonstrating that Cebuanas are more than just beautiful—they are leaders, advocates, and changemakers.
