The SVC Ravens clinched their first victory in the CIB.O Volleyball League 2026, overcoming the SOS Thunder Jets in a thrilling three-set battle during the elimination round on March 8 at Magnum Sports Complex, Cebu City.

SVC Ravens started strong, taking the first set 25–19 with solid offense and teamwork. The Thunder Jets came back in the second set, winning 25–17 to shift the momentum in their favor. Guided by adjustments from Coach Francis Ricahuerta, the Ravens regrouped and returned to the court with renewed focus. The team dominated the third set 25–17, finishing the match with confident plays and steady defense to secure their first win of the season.

Right from the first serve, the starting lineup set the pace. Team Captain Marc Alcala led with calm leadership and quick movement. Outside Hitter Marvin Tampus boosted the offense with powerful jumps and attacks, while setter Michael Bryan Arong directed the game with smart decisions and fast plays that found openings in the Thunder Jets' defense.

At the net, Carl Ibañez stood out with well-timed blocks and strong attacks. Behind him, Raymund Lauranilla shone as libero, showing quick reflexes and accurate passing to keep rallies going. Dave Labapez added energy to the offense with hard hits and solid blocks.

Everyone on the Ravens roster played a part in the team's remarkable performance, stepping up confidently when needed. Backup libero Jonies Acapulco showed great court awareness and defensive skills, reading opponents' plays and providing key support in key moments.

The match atmosphere was equally electric off the court. SVC employees and supporters filled the stands, cheering loudly and supporting the Ravens. Their energy helped boost the team's performance throughout the game.

With momentum on their side, the SVC Ravens now look ahead to their next game against the Qualfon Eagles on March 22. They are determined to keep building on their strong start in the tournament.
