To celebrate Cebu BPO Day, we added something special to our usual FriYay. The moment became an opportunity to reflect on and appreciate the industry that has shaped countless careers in Cebu.
Observed every April 1, Cebu BPO Day recognises the industry's contributions to the city, creating jobs, driving economic growth, and opening opportunities for local talent.
As employees lined up for their FriYay treats early Friday morning, we asked a simple question that sparked thoughtful conversations:
"How has working in BPO changed your life?"
The responses revealed seven powerful ways the industry continues to transform lives.
1. A Healthier Lifestyle
For Christian, the impact was both personal and professional. With SVC's support for work-life balance, he began prioritising health and fitness, losing weight from 130 kilos to 80 kilos.
2. Financial Stability
For John Paul, working in the BPO industry meant finally achieving financial stability, allowing him to better plan for his future.
3. Achieve Personal Goals
Jerome shared how working in BPO made life easier to manage and helped him steadily move closer to his personal goals.
4. Expanding Perspectives
For Sweet Jorach, the experience opened new ways of thinking. Working in BPO broadened her perspective and encouraged her to pursue continuous personal and professional growth.
5. Building Resilience
Victoria Grace described the experience as truly transformative.
"Working in BPO is literally life-changing," she shared, explaining how the industry strengthened her resilience and helped shape a stronger outlook on life.
6. Supporting Family
For Jhem, the impact extended beyond personal success. The opportunity to work in BPO enabled her to support her family and help cover household expenses.
7. Growing Confidence and Communication Skills
Adrian highlighted the confidence gained through the profession. The experience helped develop stronger communication skills and the ability to handle challenging situations professionally.

Friyay Treats and Shared Moments
These reflections were shared during SVC's monthly FriYay, a tradition that celebrates employees and strengthens connections across teams.
This month's treat featured 850 savoury patties from De Original Jamaican Patties, a brand under Fruitas Holdings Inc. Employees enjoyed a variety of flavours, including Cheesy Beef Original, Cheesy Beef Pinatubo (Spicy), and Meaty Lasagna, while catching up with colleagues and sharing stories.
At Select VoiceCom, behind every successful BPO story are real people whose lives continue to grow alongside the industry. That is why valuing employees goes beyond words. It is reflected in everyday actions, from supporting work-life balance to celebrating milestones and creating spaces for meaningful conversations.
Through these moments, SVC continues to build a workplace where people do more than work—they grow, thrive, and belong.
