Select VoiceCom is keeping its flagship CSR programme, "The SVC Legacy: Bata, Bayani, Bukas," strong with another meaningful visit to the Children's Shelter of Cebu (CSC) on June 12, 2026, for an outreach event of interactive games, meals, treats, and donations.
The visit continued the partnership that began when the programme officially launched in August 2025. Through this initiative, SVC provides consistent support designed to build children's confidence, foster continuous learning, and inspire hope for their futures.
A Day of Joy, Connection, and Shared Support
SVC volunteers, CSC children, shelter staff, and house parents all came together for a day of fun, connection, and giving back.
SVC served 100 food packs, donated five computers to support the children's learning, gave special gifts to SVC scholar Jackie, and handed out small treats to the children and staff.
The children especially enjoyed the games, which were a highlight of the day.
"My favourite part is the games, of course, and the prizes," shared Rovie, one of the CSC children.
Daniel also enjoyed the activities, saying his favourite parts were "the straw game and the food."
The kids also had fun with the egg relay and other group games. Many said they were happy to receive gifts from SVC, especially because they could choose their own tumbler designs.
Supporting Learning Through Digital Access
In addition to the food packs and prizes, giving five computers made the visit even more meaningful.
The computers will help the children access digital learning resources, complete schoolwork, and develop skills that can support their academic growth. For residents preparing for higher education and future careers, access to technology can open more opportunities to learn and explore.
This donation reflects the purpose of SVC's legacy programme: to support children through practical resources that foster their development.
A Partnership That Brings Hope
For CSC, SVC's return brought joy and encouragement to the shelter.
"We were absolutely excited to welcome the SVC team to our campus," said Jinkee Reasoner, CSC Home Life Director. "Seeing the genuine interaction between the visitors and our children brought so much joy and energy to everyone. It was a truly uplifting day for our entire community."
She added that the visit left a positive impression on both the children and staff, especially because of the warmth and sincerity shown by the volunteers.
Eunice Guinanoy, CSC Programme Director, also expressed her appreciation for SVC's continued support.
"To our organisation, SVC's support represents hope and sustainability," she said. "It allows us to expand our reach and deepen our impact on the children's lives. We are incredibly grateful for their trust, generosity, and shared commitment to making a difference."
Volunteers Who Shared Their Time and Hearts
For SVC volunteers, the visit was a reminder that simple acts of kindness can have a lasting impact.
Elsie Avergonzado, SVC HR Manager, said she was grateful to be part of an initiative that allowed employees to reconnect with the community.
"I felt happy and content sharing my time with the children," she said. "Their bright smiles and joyful laughter warmed my heart as we shared simple acts of kindness."
For Jephone Zambrano, the experience was emotional and reflective.
"It makes one reflective. Grateful. Emotional," he shared. "Hopefully, we can continue these initiatives and give other employees the gift of sharing smiles with the kids."
Chris Deiparine said that seeing the children excited during the activities was one of the most memorable parts of the visit.
"It was nice to see the kids happy and know that, even for a day, we were able to make their day a little better," she said.

Jackie's Journey Continues
The visit also included a special moment for Jackie, the first beneficiary of the legacy programme.
SVC named Jackie as its first scholar in October 2025, promising to support her education with tuition, school supplies, transportation, uniforms, and other needs. Since then, the scholarship has helped her focus on her studies and future goals.
"I was really happy and grateful for the gifts I received," Jackie shared. "I really wasn't expecting it. Thank you very much."
She also talked about how SVC's support has helped her so far.
"It helped me by helping CSC shoulder my school finances," Jackie said. "It also taught me to be responsible and confident that someone trusts me with this opportunity."
As she continues her studies, Jackie said being an SVC scholar has opened new doors for her, especially as she works toward her dream of becoming a nurse in college.
"This scholarship motivated me to study extra hard," she shared. "It also motivated me, knowing that many people believe in me and are rooting for my success."
A Legacy Built on Consistency
For SVC, "Bata, Bayani, Bukas," is more than just a CSR programme. It's a long-term promise to help children through education and real community partnership.
Ann Espina, SVC Brand and Communications Supervisor, said the company hopes the programme will continue to serve as a launchpad for the children it supports.
"We hope this programme gives them the stability and encouragement to excel academically and personally," she said. "We want them to see SVC not just as a sponsor, but as a lifelong champion of their dreams."
She also said the initiative shows SVC's belief that corporate success is about more than business growth—it's also about the positive impact a company leaves on its community.
"By investing in youth and education, we are fulfilling our promise to uplift, support, and grow with the communities we serve," Espina said.
Continuing the Mission
SVC's return to the Children's Shelter of Cebu is another step in a partnership built on compassion, education, and shared responsibility.
With every visit, "The SVC Legacy: Bata, Bayani, Bukas" demonstrates the lasting social impact organisations can achieve when they truly support the communities they serve.
